Attached for your review and approval is Change Order 2 to the construction contract with Gerace Construction Company, Inc. for the 2022 Bandemer Park Bridge Repairs and Renovations Project (RFP 22-18). This Change Order involves additional steel repairs that are needed on the bridges which were not accessible and visible up close until the bridge decking was removed and the contractor installed false decking below, where the full scope of deterioration could be observed on the structure.

The additional repairs included in Change Order No. 2 include:
* replacing the debris guards on the vehicle bridge ($17,020.00)
* repairing the truss vertical members at four locations on the vehicle bridge ($6,612.00)
* installing spacer plates at the remaining truss vertical members on the vehicle bridge ($9,774.00)
* repairing the webs of the floor beams at eleven locations on the vehicle bridge ($18,183.00)
* repairing a crack in truss diagonal member on the vehicle bridge ($1,653.00)
* and replacing one section of lateral bracing on the pedestrian bridge ($5,356.00)

There is also an additional cost for the estimated 10-day duration to complete the repairs. This cost includes the additional crane, fork truck, general site conditions costs, etc. associated with this change order. The pricing is $2,561.00 per day for a total of $25,610.00.

The total estimated cost for the repairs and additional time to complete the repairs are $84,208 which exceed the approved contingency of $75,835.

The first Contract Change Order for these repairs was approved administratively for $26,512.00 and fell below the contingency amount.
