Resolution to Approve Street Closings for FestiFools Parade - Sunday, April 7, 2024
Memorandum
Attached for your consideration is a resolution to approve the closing of Main Street between William and Washington for the FestiFools Parade on Sunday, April 7, 2024, from 12:00 Noon until 6:00 PM. The event will take place from 4:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. and the streets will be reopened by 6:00 P.M.
The sponsor, Mark Tucker, agrees to obtain all necessary permits, to provide evidence of proper liability insurance as required, to comply with all City regulations governing the use of the streets and will reimburse the City for all event expenses. The sponsor is also working with the University of Michigan Arts Initiative, Larry and Lucie Nisson, U-M LSWA, Sweetwaters, Grizzly Peak, Destination Ann Arbor, Main Street Area Association, the Downtown Development Authority, the Ann Arbor District Library and the UM Alice Lloyd Scholars Program.
Notification of the street closings will be provided through the City's lane closure website and the Festifools Studio on Facebook.
The event has been coordinated with all relevant City service areas for the purposes of traffic control and for the protection of the health and safety of the participants and the general public.
