Attached for your review and approval, please find a resolution to approve a construction contract between the City of Ann Arbor and Bailey Excavating, Inc in the amount of $2,759,293.42 for the Pontiac, Swift, Moore and Wright Watermain and Resurfacing Project (RFP 23-22).
Pontiac, Swift, Moore and Wright Watermain and Resurfacing Project limits consist of Pontiac Trail (Moore to Swift), Swift Street (Wright to Broadway), the intersection of Broadway and Swift, Moore Street (Broadway to Pontiac Trail), Wright Street (dead-end to Kellogg), and Wright Street (Longshore to Swift). The project includes the following elements and (funding sources):
* Replacement of water main and related appurtenances and selected water main consolidation (Water Supply System Fund)
* Selected stormwater system improvements (Stormwater Fund)
* Road resurfacing, intermittent curb replacements, selected bump-out additions, and sidewalk and ramp replacements (Street, Bridge, and Sidewalk Millage Fund)
* Buffered bike lanes on Pontiac and Moore.
* Minor sanitary sewer improvements (Sewage Disposal System Fund)
The construction of the project is scheduled in three phases in 2023:
* Phase 1: Early-July to Mid-August 2023; work on Pontiac Trail (Moore to Swift), Swift Street (Wright to Broadway), and the intersection of Broadway and Swift.
* Phase 2: Mid-August to Mid-September 2023; work on Wright Street (dead-end to Kellogg), Wright Street (Longshore to Swift), and finish Swift Street (Wright to Pontiac Trail).
* Phase 3: Mid-September to Mid-October 2023; work on Moore Street (Broadway to Pontiac Trail).
