Title
Resolution to Authorize the Purchase of One Ventrac Tractor with Accessories from J.W. Turf Inc. (Sourcewell - $42,577.25)
Memorandum
The attached resolution authorizes the purchase of one new Ventrac 4500 Series Tractor with a mower deck, brush hog and broom attachments at a total cost of $42,577.25 through the Sourcewell cooperative purchasing program (contract number 062117-VPI) for use by the Community Services Area, Park Operations.

The proposed Ventrac Tractor and accessories will replace a 2004 John Deere 5320 Tractor (#6783) and a 2004 Sweepster Broom (#6465) Park Operations. Each have unknown hours of use but are beyond their useful life and in need of replacement. The tractor and attachments are used for maintaining park grounds throughout the City. The Ventrac has a lower center of gravity then many tractors which allows for safer operations when mowing slopes. The broom attachment is used during the winter to remove snow from park pathways.

Venture Products Inc. was awarded contract number 062117-VPI by the Sourcewell cooperative purchasing program for Grounds Maintenance Equipment and Accessories. J.W. Turf Inc. is the local dealer for Ventrac Tractors and accessories. The City's purchasing unit has reviewed the Sourcewell cooperative purchasing program and found that it meets the requirements of the City of Ann Arbor for competitive and fair purchasing.

J.W. Turf Inc. complies with the requirements of the City's conflict of interest and non-discrimination ordinances.
