Ordinance 26-11 was approved by City Council on June 1, 2026. The City Charter allows summary publication of ordinances that are in excess of 500 words in length upon approval by City Council. Summary publication is appropriate due to the cost of publication and length of the ordinance. The ordinance will also be available publicly online.

RESOLVED, That the publication of Ordinance 26-11 shall be made by the following summary:
Ordinance 26-11 amends the Unified Development Code (Chapter 55) to update solid waste terms consistently with Chapter 26 Solid Waste and the Solid Waste Regulations. References in Section 5.18 special dimensional and site layout standards on structures in residential zoning district front required setback area, Section 5.20 landscaping, screening and buffering for solid waste containers, Section 5.29 zoning permits and required plan information dimensional layout plan and landscape plan, and Section 5.37 definition of open space are updated with the terms curb cart, dumpster, solid waste, solid waste container, solid waste points of collection or solid waste points of storage as appropriate.
The effective date of Ordinance 26-11 is 10 days after publication. A complete text of this ordinance is available for inspection at the City Clerk’s office on the second floor of the Guy C. Larcom Municipal Building, 301 East Huron Street, Ann Arbor or at <http://www.a2gov.org>
