Memorandum
Attached for your review and approval are amendments to Chapter 21, Retiree Health Care Benefits Plan and Trust.

The amendments to the ordinance move new hires in the AFSCME and AAPOA bargaining groups to the same access only retiree health plan which is applicable to new hires in the non-union group of employees.

These changes result from negotiations leading to a new collective bargaining agreement with the AFSCME group and an Act 312 binding arbitration award issued to the parties for the AAPOA bargaining group.

The City of Ann Arbor Ordains:
Section 1: That Section 1:700 of Chapter 21, Retiree Health Care Benefits Plan and Trust, of Title I of the Code of the City of Ann Arbor be amended to read as follows:

1:700. Purpose.

The purpose of the Plan and Trust is to provide health and life insurance benefits or such other benefits approved by the City or approved by collective bargaining agreements for the welfare of certain Retirees of the City who are eligible to receive a retirement benefit from the City of Ann Arbor Employees' Retirement System (the ...
