Resolution Acknowledging Above and Beyond Efforts to Complete the Charles and Catherine Braun Conservation Easement

Whereas, The Charles and Catherine Braun property was a high priority for protection by the City of Ann Arbor's Greenbelt program due to its proximity to the City limits, scenic views along Whitmore Lake Road and Joy Road, and its prime agriculture land; and
Whereas, Many individuals went above and beyond throughout the process to ensure the protection of this high priority farm;
RESOLVED, That the Greenbelt Advisory Commissions acknowledges and thanks Congressman Dingell and his staff for their leadership and assistance moving the process forward with USDA;
RESOLVED, That the Greenbelt Advisory Commission acknowledges and thanks Rich Harlow of Michigan Department of Agriculture for working with the landowners and expediting the process regarding the PA 116 agreement to allow the City to complete the purchase of the conservation easement;
RESOLVED, That the Greenbelt Advisory Commission acknowledges and thanks Mike Moran and Ann Arbor Township for their partnership on the purchase of the easement and leadership to help protect the property; and
RESOLVED, That the Greenbelt Advisory Commission acknowledges and thanks Mayor John Hieftje for his leadership to ensure the property is protected.
