Resolution to Change the Date for the Mayor’s Green Fair to Friday, August 14, 2020 from 3:00 PM until 11:00 PM
Memorandum
The attached resolution requests a change of date for the Mayor’s Green Fair from June 12, 2020 to August 14, 2020 from 3:00 PM until 11:00 PM. The actual event will take place from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. The original date was approved by Council on January 21, 2020 at R-20-013. In an abundance of caution and mindful of the COVID-19 Pandemic, the organizers are requesting this change in date in the hopes that large events will be moving forward at that time. This event may be held in partnership with other previously cancelled Earth Day events; these discussions, along with a social distancing plan, are evolving.

Whereas, The resolution to approve the 20th Annual Mayor’s Green Fair on Friday, June 12, 2020 was passed at R-20-013 on January 21, 2020;
Whereas, the Mayor’s Office is requesting a change in date to Friday, August 14, 2020 depending on the allowance of such activities per the Governor’s Executive Orders;
Whereas, It is necessary to close the following City streets from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM for set-up and take down and to facilitate a successful event:
• S. Main Street from William Street to Huron Street
• Liberty Street from S. Ashley Street to S. Fourth Avenue
• Washington Street from S. Ashley Street to S. Fourth Avenue (except for traffic entering or exiting the Washington Street Parking Structure)
Whereas, The street closures will be signed, barricaded and properly supervised; and
Whereas, Notification of the street closings will be provided through the City’s website;
RESOLVED, That City Council approve a change in date to August 14, 2020 for the 20th Annual Mayor’s Green Fair pursuant to the Governor’s Executive Orders; and
RESOLVED, That City Council approve the closing of the following streets on Friday, August 14, 2020 from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM:
• S. Main Street from William Street to Huron Street
• Liberty Street from S. Ashley Street to S. Fourth Avenue
• Washington Street from S. Ashley Street to S. Fourth Avenue (except for traffic entering or exiting the Washington Street Parking Structure)
