Title
Resolution to Approve a Purchase Order to NetMotion Wireless for 3-Year Software Maintenance Agreement FY2013-FY2015 ($36,534.00)
Memorandum
Attached for your review and action is a resolution authorizing the creation of a purchase order to NetMotion Wireless in the amount of $36,534.00 for 3 years of software maintenance and support of the City's NetMotion virtual private network (VPN) service for FY2013- FY2015.

Over 280 devices are licensed to safely and securely connect to the City's network through NetMotion's software-based VPN and NetMotion has been used since 2005 to support the City's remote access needs.  NetMotion Wireless is the only provider of the NetMotion maintenance and as such has been designated with Sole Source approval.

Executing a 3-year NetMotion Wireless maintenance and support agreement, in lieu of separate 1-year agreements, saves the City $9,133.50, or 20%, over a 3-year timeframe.  Although not planned, this 3-year agreement can be funded through available funds in the FY2013 IT Fund.  It is imperative to maintain this agreement with NetMotion Wireless to receive NetMotion VPN maintenance and support to continue to provide the City's remote access infrastructure.

NetMotion Wireless received Human Rights and Living Wage compliance approval on October 19, 2012.
