Resolution to Approve the Renewal Agreement for Information Technology Services between the City of Ann Arbor and City of Chelsea ($32,000.00)

During the summer of 2010, City of Chelsea administration approached City of Ann Arbor IT Leadership asking if the City of Ann Arbor's Information Technology Service Unit would be interested in providing Information Technology Services to the City of Chelsea. Specifically, the City of Chelsea was looking for more effective management of their technology. By partnering with Ann Arbor they would be able to have the access to the combined of skill set of a larger IT organization without having to invest in the entire Information Technology cost structure.
After the initial year of services, Ann Arbor and Chelsea have determined that it continues to be in the best interest of both communities to provide information technology services through a shared resources and operational agreement.
The purpose of this operational agreement is for the City of Ann Arbor Information Technology Service Unit to provide information technology services to the citizens, employees, and other customers of Chelsea, enabling timely, cost effective, high quality delivery of services.
The scope of services to be delivered through the renewed operational agreement includes providing basic IT services including, helpdesk, management of the City's website, server hosting, backup and recovery, overseeing IT contractors, project management, and representing the City of Chelsea in regional technology efforts, and meetings.
The City of Chelsea will reimburse the City of Ann Arbor up to $32,000.00 for all services provided under this Agreement.
The Chelsea City Council unanimously approved this agreement during their January 24th City Council meeting.

Whereas, The City of Chelsea wishes to continue having City of Ann Arbor provide Information Technology Services to the City of Chelsea;
Whereas, The Cities of Ann Arbor and Chelsea have determined that it continues to be in the best interest of both communities for the City of Ann Arbor to provide information technology services through an operational services agreement;
Whereas, The purpose of this agreement is for the City of Ann Arbor Information Technology Service Unit to provide Information Technology services to the citizens, employees and other customers of Chelsea, enabling timely, cost effective, high quality delivery of services;
Whereas, The City of Chelsea will reimburse Ann Arbor up to $32,000.00 for all services provided under this agreement; and
Whereas, The Chelsea City Council unanimously approved this operation agreement during their January 24, 2012 meeting.
RESOLVED, That City Council approve the renewal of the Operational Agreement for Information Technology Services contract with The City of Chelsea in an amount not to exceed $32,000.00;
RESOLVED, That the Mayor and Clerk be authorized and directed to execute the after approval as to form by the City Attorney; and
RESOLVED, That the City Administrator be authorized to take all necessary administrative actions to implement this Resolution regardless of fiscal year.
