Memorandum
Attached for your review and action is a resolution to approve the contract, per RFP #746, for the design, build and management of the Co-Located Dispatch Project in the amount of $48,183.00 with Allied Building Services. The funding source for this project is the 800 MHz Public Safety Communications Millage Fund, per the approved budget by the Project Oversight Committee on November 16, 2009. Rembursement for all costs is expected from Washtenaw County, which administers the Communications Millage Fund, prior to June 30, 2010.

Demolition and construction of the expanded Co-Located Dispatch Center has begun on the second floor of Fire Station One. This expanded space will house the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s and City of Ann Arbor’s Dispatch Centers with three related supervisor offices. The construction work includes demolition, design, build and management of the project. The contract is subject to the approval process by the City Attorney.

The RFP was posted on the Michigan Intergovernmental Trade Network and the City of Ann Arbor’s Purchasing Websites and four contractors submitted proposals. The four contractors that submitted proposals are provided below:

The resolution includes a recommended construction contingency of $2201.00 to cover the potential contract change orders. It is requested that a total project budget be established of $50,384.00 for the entire project.
