Attached for your review and approval, please find a resolution approving a change order in the total amount of $150,000.00 for the contract with Saladino Construction Company for the Annual Miscellaneous Concrete Repairs Project (ITB-4237). This change order revises the original contract amount of $426,000.00 to $576,000.00.

The miscellaneous concrete work consists of the replacement of concrete including curb and gutter, sidewalk, request based corner ramps, driveway approaches and all relate work. The work addresses the needs of all of Field Operations Services.

On August 8, 2012, by Resolution R-12-379,City Council approved the existing contract with Saladino Construction Company based on ITB-4237 for a total amount of $426,000.00, which was based on estimated quantities. In the course of the work, staff found a number of additional repairs that will require an additional $150,000.00 worth of work over the remainder of FY13 and in FY14 and FY15 in order to complete all the needed work.

The change order increases the existing contract amount by $150,000.00, for a final total of $576,000.00. The proposed change order has received the contractor’s acceptance.

Saladino Construction Company has received Human Rights approval on August 13, 2012. All employees of Saladino Construction Company assigned to work on the project will receive compensation in accordance with the Living Wage Ordinance and Saladino Construction Company received Living Wage Ordinance approval on April 18, 2013.

Funding for this change order for FY13 ($50,000.00) is available in the approved Field Operations Service Unit Budget. Funding for FY14 and FY15 is anticipated to be available in the FY14 and FY15 budgets and the change order amounts for...
