Resolution to Approve Street Closure of E. Liberty between S. Division Street and S. Fifth Avenue on Saturday, May 25, 2024 for the Ann Arbor Bicentennial Birthday Celebration from 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM
Memorandum
The attached resolution is requesting approval to close E. Liberty between S. Division and S. Fifth on Saturday, May 25, 2024 to hold the Ann Arbor Bicentennial Birthday Celebration.
This event, sponsored by the State Street District and Destination Ann Arbor, will partner with the Library Green Conservancy event which will have speakers, quiz competitions, music and other activities in Liberty Plaza. The street closure will allow participants to move freely between the Plaza and the street where tables and chairs will be set up for community gathering and dining. The event will culminate with a large birthday cake for all to share.
Notification of the street closure will be through the City's Bicentennial website, GovDelivery and numerous local social media sites.
The sponsor agrees to obtain all necessary permits, to provide evidence of proper liability insurance as required, and to comply with all City and state regulations governing the use of the street
