Memorandum
Attached for your consideration is a request from the Ann Arbor Street Art Fair to close the following streets on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 from 3:00 PM until the annual closing of streets for the Art Fair beginning on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at 6:00 AM. This closure is requested for the Ann Arbor Mile-Dart for Art Event:

* North University from State Street to Church
* Church from North University to South University
* South University from Church to East University
o The route then continues across University property from South University back to North University

The race will actually start at 5:00 PM to be followed by The Paint the Town Block pARTy until 9:00 PM.

The Ann Arbor Mile is an event for area residents to join in the kick off of Art Fair week in Ann Arbor and support the Ann Arbor Street Art Fair, the Original, a 501(c)3 non-profit arts organization. The goals of the event are:

* To continue with a competitive one mile race in Ann Arbor
* To encourage the community to get out and run or walk a mile
* To bring the Ann Arbor community together

Notification of the street closing will be provided through the City's website and the Sponsor's notification to electronic and print media no later than 14 days prior to the event.

Whereas, The street closures will be signed, barricaded and properly supervised;

Whereas, The Sponsor agrees to obtain all necessary permits, to provide evidence of proper liability insurance as required, and to comply with all City regulations governing the use of the streets;
