Title
Resolution to Approve a Purchase Order to Infrastructure Solutions Group, Inc. for Pacific Tek Water Gate Valve Exercising Equipment (North Carolina Sheriffs Association - $87,821.00)
Memorandum
The attached resolution approves the purchase of Pacific Tek Water Gate Valve Exercising Equipment from Infrastructure Solutions Group for a total of $87,821.00 through the North Carolina Sheriffs Association (NCSA) cooperative purchasing program (NCSA# 24-08-0421) for use by the Public Works Unit of the Public Services Area.

Gate valve exercising equipment is used to operate water valves located on water main lines that supply the community with water. These valves are used to isolate portions of the water distribution system when necessary for new construction or emergency repairs. The new equipment includes specialized programming that senses the torque necessary to turn the valves and executes automated exercising programs until the valve operates as it should. This data is then logged for further analysis by staff. It also includes a vacuum unit that will be used to remove debris from valve boxes and gate wells saving follow up trips with additional equipment to clean out debris for access. The equipment currently used for this process is at the end of its useful life and must be replaced.

Infrastructure Solutions Group, Inc. was awarded contract #24-08-0421 by the North Carolina Sheriffs Association cooperative purchasing program for heavy equipment. Fredrickson Supply of Grand Rapids, MI, will prep, deliver and provide future service for the equipment.

Infrastructure Solutions Group, Inc. complies with the requirements of the City's Conflict of Interest and Non-Discrimination ordinances.

Budget/Fiscal Impact: Adequate funding for the purchase of this equipment is available in the FY24 Water Supply System Operations and Maintenance budget.
