Title
Resolution to Approve Changes to Traffic Patterns and Parking on Certain City Streets for the 2026 University of Michigan Student Move-In Program from August 24 - August 30, 2026
Memorandum
The attached resolution is to approve a request from the University of Michigan to change traffic patterns and parking on certain City streets from Monday, August 24 at 6:00 A.M. through Sunday, August 30, 2026 at 11:00 P.M. to assist the University Student Move-In Program to proceed in an efficient and orderly manner. In an effort to minimize the anticipated congestion in the City caused by the returning student population, the University has requested the changes at the indicated dates and times to allow University housed students to move into their respective residence halls.

A restriction on peddling licenses and sidewalk occupancy permits within a one-block radius of the housing units is also included in the resolution.

The University will maintain the required emergency traffic lanes and will staff barricades to ensure the safety and security of individuals moving into university owned housing.
