Resolution to Approve Executive Director Cost of Living Adjustment

 

Memorandum

Presented for your consideration is a resolution to apply a cost-of-living increase to the executive director’s salary for FY27.

                     The City of Ann Arbor has announced a 3% cost-of-living increase for non-union employees beginning July 1, 2026. DDA staff will receive this 3% adjustment as well. 

                     The DDA Board must approve all salary adjustments for the executive director as this position is a direct appointment of the DDA Board.

                     The resolution presented for the Board’s consideration would approve a 3% cost-of-living increase to the executive director’s salary, effective July 1, 2026.

                     The current salary for the DDA Executive Director is $160,726.33. The 3% adjustment would increase that amount by $4,821.78, bringing the new salary to $165,548.11.

Whereas, The City of Ann Arbor has announced a 3% cost-of-living increase to non-union personnel effective July 1, 2026;

 

Whereas, The DDA Board recognizes the benefit in keeping salary levels current with   cost-of-living changes and with City of Ann Arbor salary structure adjustments;

 

Whereas, The DDA Board must approve any cost-of-living adjustments for the executive director;

 

RESOLVED, The DDA board approves a 3% compensation increase to Maura Thomson’s salary as the executive director, effective July 1, 2026.
