Resolution to Approve an Agreement with Stantec Consulting Michigan, Inc. for Construction Inspection Services

 

Memorandum

Background

DDA responsibilities require inspection, including DDA capital repairs and site plan compliance with the Downtown Street Design Manual. To ensure consistency with City Engineering and work within the City ROW, the DDA regularly utilizes the City’s procurement process for standard DDA services.

 

Stantec Consulting Michigan, Inc. / Construction Inspection Contract

Stantec Consulting Michigan, Inc. was selected by the City of Ann Arbor through a competitive RFP process to provide construction inspection services from January 2025 to December 31, 2027 (RFP 24-52 <https://a2gov.legistar.com/LegislationDetail.aspx?ID=7012903&GUID=B5B09903-BE4D-48AC-AE66-4BCF8E33AD23&FullText=1>).  DDA staff recommends a contract with Stantec Consulting Michigan, Inc. for $250,000 for construction inspection and as-needed services.

 

Contract scope: Construction Inspection Services

Total contract amount: $250,000

Contract Start: July 1, 2026

Contract End Date: December 31, 2027

 

Body

Whereas, Stantec Consulting Michigan, Inc. was selected by the City of Ann Arbor through a competitive RFP process (RFP 24-52) to provide construction inspection services through December 2027;

 

Whereas, Implementing DDA initiatives requires construction inspection;

 

Whereas, DDA staff recommends Stantec Consulting Michigan, Inc. to provide engineering and as-needed services beginning July 2026 through December 2027, following the City’s contract period;

 

Whereas, Funding for the contract is available in the Gen/TIF budget;

 

Resolved, The DDA Board authorizes the DDA Executive Director to execute a contract with a not-to-exceed amount of $250,000 to be paid from the General/TIF Fund (248).
