Title
Resolution Establishing City Application Fee for Continuing Care Retirement Center License
Memorandum
The City Clerk's Office received notice from the Michigan Liquor Control Commission of a request from Glacier Hills, Inc., for a new Continuing Care Retirement Center License, to be located at 1200 Earhart.  This is the first request for a Continuing Care Retirement Center License in the City.  The license permits the licensee to sell at retail and serve on the licensed premises beer, wine, mixed spirit drink, mixed wine drink, and spirits, for consumption by a resident or the bona fide guests accompanying the resident, only on the licensed premises.  Since this is the first request for a Continuing Care Retirement Center License in Ann Arbor, a public hearing and resolution establishing an application fee is necessary before the request is brought before Council.

The City currently charges applicants a one-time filing fee of $1000.00 for liquor license ownership transfers to cover the cost of inspections and investigations.  To be consistent with current City practice, a $1000.00 application fee for a new Continuing Care Retirement Center License is recommended.
