Memorandum
Attached for your consideration is a resolution to approve the closing of certain streets for the Lemon Loop 5K on Sunday, September 4, 2011.

Lululemon Athletica, PR Fitness and Whole Foods are sponsoring the race. The event is scheduled to begin with setup from 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM. and cleanup from 8:45 until 11:00 A.M. Street closings for the race will take place from 7:00 AM to 8:45 AM. with the race scheduled to begin at 8:00 AM and end by 8:45 AM. The following streets are scheduled to be closed from 7:00 A.M. to 8:45 AM but will be reopened as soon as safely possible after participants have cleared the affected areas.

· S. State Street from E. William Street to Hill Street
· Hill Street from S. State Street to S. Forest Ave.
· S. Forest Ave. from Hill Street to S. University Ave.
· S. University Ave. from S. Forest Ave. to Church Street
· Church Street from S. University Ave. to Geddes/N. University Ave.
· Eastbound side of Geddes/N. University Ave. from Church Street to S. State Street

Lululemon Athletica is also requesting the closing of E. William Street from S. State Street to Maynard from 8:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. for post-race activities.

The sponsor agrees to obtain all necessary permits, to provide evidence of proper liability insurance as required, to comply with all City regulations governing the use of the streets, and will reimburse the City for all event expenses.

Notification of the street closings will be provided through the City’s website.

The event has been coordinated with all relevant City service areas for the purposes of traffic control and for the protection of the health and safety of the participants and the general public.
