Memorandum
The attached resolution authorizes the summary publication of Ordinance No. ORD-10-37, which adds a new section to the Zoning Ordinance that 1) provides regulations for medical marijuana dispensaries, cultivation facilities, and home occupations; 2) identifies districts in which these activities would be allowed; and 3) provides additional use regulations. The City Charter contains provisions to allow summary publications of ordinances that are in excess of 500 words in length.  The purpose of this resolution is to lessen the City's cost resulting from the required publication of the revisions to the City Code.

Whereas, Section 7.4 of the City Charter authorizes the publication by summary of ordinances over 500 words in length;
 
RESOLVED, That Ordinance No. ORD-10-37 be published by the following summary:
 
Ordinance No. ORD-10-37 adds a new Section 5:50.1 to Chapter 55 (Zoning) of Title V to provide regulations regarding the cultivation and transfer of medical marijuana, including identifying specific zoning districts in the City where medical marijuana dispensaries, cultivation facilities, home occupations and other use in dwelling units will be allowed; and to provide additional use regulations for each type of use.
