PROCLAMATION
Forest Hills Cooperative
June 6, 2011
WHEREAS, The availability of clean, safe, affordable housing is a crucial element of any community which prides itself on concern for all of its residents; and
WHEREAS, Home ownership provides a sense of pride and personal accomplishment adding to community family values; and
WHEREAS, Cooperative living allows low and moderate income persons to enjoy the pride of having an ownership interest in safe, affordable housing; and
WHEREAS, Since 1971, Forest Hills Cooperative in the City of Ann Arbor has been at the forefront of housing Cooperative living providing to the people of Ann Arbor safe, clean, affordable housing options with the attendant pride of an ownership interest; and
WHEREAS, Since 1971, Forest Hills Cooperative has played a critical role in the Ann Arbor housing market by affording low and moderate income residents of all races, nationalities and creeds an opportunity to live and raise families in our community; and
WHEREAS, Forest Hills Cooperative is committed to continuing the vital role of providing affordable Cooperative living opportunities to low and moderate income residents of the City of Ann Arbor.
NOW THEREFORE, I, John Hieftje, Mayor of Ann Arbor do hereby recognize and commend Forest Hills Cooperative for its efforts over the past 40 years of playing a vital role in the provision of affordable housing and thereby adding to the personal and family values of the City of Ann Arbor.
