Memorandum
This memorandum and resolution request approval of Amendment No. 4 to the professional services agreement for technical engineering services with CDM Michigan Inc. Council approved a professional services agreement for $75,000.00 with CDM in June 2005 as part of Resolution No. R-236-6-05, Amendment No. 1 for $75,000.00 in September 2006 as part of Resolution No. R-409-9-06, Amendment No. 2 for $140,000.00 in September 2007 as part of Resolution No. R-450-9-0, and Amendment No. 3 for $100,000.00 in July 2009 as part of Resolution No. R-09-299

The City is seeking to extend the professional services agreement with CDM Michigan Inc. to accommodate additional technical engineering service needs over the next two fiscal years. CDM Michigan Inc. is currently supporting the Water Treatment Services Unit in Public Services on numerous projects, including Distribution System Monitoring and the Lime Handling Improvements Projects. The services rendered to date on these projects have been very good.

It is therefore recommended that City Council approve Amendment No. 4 to the professional services agreement with CDM Michigan Inc. for $100,000.00, to provide Technical Engineering Services to the Water Treatment and Field Operations Services Units for FY12 and FY13.

CDM received Human Rights approval on May 22, 2010, and complies with the living wage ordinance.

These engineering services are to be funded from the approved FY12 and FY13 Water Supply System Fund, Sewage Disposal System Fund, Stormwater System Fund, Park Maintenance & Capital Improvement Millage, General Fund (Hydro), and Solid Waste Operations and maintenance budgets, if so approved by council.
