Living Wage Increase
Memorandum
As required by the City Ordinance, Chapter 23, Section 1:815 subsection (3), we have examined the federal poverty guidelines published by the US Department of Health and Human Services for 2011.  We find that there is a 1.0% increase over last year for an average family size of three.  (See attachment)

Subsequently, the Living Wage for 2011 will be set at the following rate:

$11.83 - For those employers paying health insurance
$13.19 - For those employers NOT paying health insurance

Contractors and vendors currently in our database will be notified about this increase in required wages.  This change will be effective May 1, 2011.
