Resolution to Approve Purchase Order with Parkson Corporation for Bar Screen Replacement Parts at the Wastewater Treatment Plant ($39,007.00)
Memorandum
Your approval is requested to authorize a Purchase Order with Parkson Corporation in the amount of $39,007.00 for replacement parts to maintain the Lynx Grabber Automatic Bar Screen system at the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP).
The Lynx Grabber Automatic Bar Screen system removes debris and rags from the incoming sewage that could cause damage to downstream equipment or cause problems with the processing and land application of biosolids. These problems could result in a violation of the WWTP’s National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit. Parkson Corporation is the sole source from which system components for the WWTP’s Lynx Grabber Automatic Bar Screen can be purchased.
Parkson Corporation received Contract Compliance approval on November 19, 2010.
Funds to finance this purchase are included in the approved FY11 WWTP Operation and Maintenance Budget for the Sewage Disposal System.

Whereas, The Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) uses an automatic bar screen system manufactured by Parkson Corporation;
Whereas, The automatic bar screen system enables the WWTP to protect downstream equipment and ensure National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit compliance;
Whereas, Replacement of worn out parts is a maintenance requirement necessary for proper bar screen system function;
Whereas, Funds for this purchase are available in the FY11 WWTP Operation and Maintenance Budget of the Sewage Disposal System;
