Resolution to Approve a Purchase Order to ISCG, Inc. For Furnishings & Equipment for the 15th Judicial District Court and to Approve a Budget Amendment for that Purpose ($36,000.00) (8 Votes Required)
Memorandum
Since the Court's prior request was presented to Council on October 18, the Court has continued to seek lower-cost alternatives. The potential total cost for furnishings and equipment has been reduced from $160,000 to approximately $75,000.00 by increased use of adapted existing inventory combined with refurbished and new goods.

This resolution is the first of two furnishing and equipment resolutions and is for new furnishings not in the Court's existing inventory or not located to date on the secondary and refurbished markets, in order to accommodate production lead time.

The second resolution to follow at a future Council session will request Council approval for the acquisition of refurbished used furnishings and equipment in the approximate amount of $39,000.00.

Consequently the Court wishes to withdraw the prior resolution. In lieu of that resolution, this resolution seeks Council approval to issue a purchase order in an amount not to exceed Thirty Six Thousand Dollars ($36,000.00) to ISCG, Inc. for furnishings & equipment necessary for the operation of the Court in the Ann Arbor Municipal Center (the "AAMC"), and for Council approval for a budget allocation for that purpose.

The Court's rationales for this substitute resolution were related in the Court's memo to the Mayor and Council Members dated November 13, 2010 and attached to this agenda item.

That memo relates a proposed expenditure of approximately $34,000.00. This resolution requests $36,000.00, representing an increase of approximately $2,000.00 to cover any furnishing contingencies.

ISCG, Inc. received Living Wage and Contract Compliance approval on June 18, 2010 .
