Title
Resolution to Approve a Street Closure of Washington Street between Fletcher and Thayer Streets for the Dance Marathon at the University of Michigan's 2023 Spook-a-Thon on Saturday, October 28, 2023 from 12:00 Noon until 6:00 PM
Memorandum
The attached resolution is requesting approval to close Washington Street between Fletcher and Thayer Streets on Saturday, October 28, 2023 from 12:00 Noon until 6:00 PM for the Dance Marathon at the University of Michigan's 2023 Spook-a-Thon. This event has been held previously on the University's Ingalls Mall, but the applicant has requested this street closure to accommodate the increasing number of participants. This will allow more families and kids in the Ann Arbor area to come and celebrate Halloween together. The organizer also raises funds and awareness for pediatric therapies at C.S. Mott Children's Hospital.

Notification of the street closure will be through the City's website and GovDelivery and the Dance Marathon's resources.

The sponsor agrees to obtain all necessary permits, to provide evidence of proper liability insurance as required, to comply with all City and state regulations governing the use of the streets, and will reimburse the City for all event expenses.
