Memorandum
Attached for your review and consideration, please find a resolution to approve a contract between the City of Ann Arbor and the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) for the construction phase of the Scio Church Road Improvement Project. The agreement prescribes the cost sharing of the construction, as well as each party's rights and responsibilities, and is required for the project to receive its share of federal funding from the Surface Transportation Program (STPU).

The project will include the addition of 3500 feet of new buffered bike lanes on the north side of Scio Church between S Maple and Greenview that is currently on-street parking and 1400 feet of new buffered bike lanes on the south side of Scio Church between S Maple and Old Pear Tree Court which will increase the bike network by approximately 0.928 miles. Also, the project will also convert 2100 feet of an existing bike lane on the south side of Scio Church between Old Pear Tree Court to Greenview into a protected buffered bike lane and will include the addition of three new crosswalks which will increase the walkability of the neighborhood.

Construction is expected to begin on or after late September of 2022 and be completed in the spring of 2023.
