Memorandum
Attached for your consideration is a request from the University of Michigan Law School to close Monroe Street between State Street and Oakland Avenue on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM to honor Chris Jeffries. The actual event will occur from 12:30 PM until 1:00 PM with the additional time to be used for set-up and take-down. The University of Michigan will be recognizing Chris Jeffries, a University of Michigan alumnus, and his wife, Lisa, for contributions made to support Law School programming. The itinerary includes a ribbon cutting at the Monroe Street Jeffries Hall entrance.

The applicant agrees to obtain all necessary permits, to provide evidence of proper liability insurance as required, to comply with all City regulations governing the use of the street and will reimburse the City for all event expenses.

Notification of the street closing will be provided through the University of Michigan's Communications Office, as well as the City of Ann Arbor's website and GovDelivery.

The event has been coordinated with all relevant City service areas for the purposes of traffic control and for the protection of the health and safety of the participants and the general public.
