Resolution to Appoint Kevin McDonald as Interim City Attorney

Whereas, The City Attorney is selected and approved by the Ann Arbor City Council;
Whereas, Current City Attorney Stephen K. Postema will retire on March 11, 2022; and
Whereas, Successor City Attorney Atleen Kaur will begin on April 11, 2022;
Whereas, The Council Administration Committee unanimously on January 11, 2022, recommended that Chief Deputy City Attorney Kevin McDonald be appointed as Acting City Attorney during this interim period;
RESOLVED, That the City Council appoints Kevin McDonald to serve as Interim City Attorney for the time period March 12 until April 10, 2022; and
RESOLVED, Effective March 12, 2022, Mr. McDonald shall be paid the current salary for the City Attorney while he serves as Interim City Attorney.
