Resolution Requesting a Corrected Version of Attorney Jennifer Salvatore’s Third Independent Investigative Memo

Whereas, Attorney Jennifer Salvatore has an excellent reputation;
Whereas, Attorney Salvatore was retained by the City of Ann Arbor;
Whereas, Attorney Jennifer Salvatore was paid for and provided three independent investigative memos in 2021;
Whereas, Councilmembers have the reasonable expectation that memos provided by the City Attorneys and outside counsel are factually accurate and complete;
Whereas, Multiple factual errors have been identified in Attorney Salvatore’s third independent investigative memo of December 7; and
Whereas; Councilmember Griswold voted against releasing the third memo, stating factual errors and brought the issue to the attention of the Mayor in a January 23 email, and to Attorney Stephen Postema (copied on the email) and during office hours;
Whereas, The errors are material and are the basis for some of Attorney Salvatore's findings and conclusions; and
RESOLVED, The City Attorneys oversee the correction of the factual errors and submit a corrected memo to Council no later than February 21.
