Title

An Ordinance to Amend Chapter 107 (Animals) of Title IX (Police Regulations) of the Ann Arbor City Code (ORD-21-28)

Memorandum

The proposed ordinance amendment clarifies the obligations of people having possession or custody of animals, expands vicious animal protections to domestic animals, broadens the types of traps prohibited in Ann Arbor, includes the penalty provisions within each section to increase accessibility, and removes the animal cruelty provision because state laws are better equipped to address those offenses.

Budget or Fiscal Impact:  There are no costs anticipated at this time.
