Memorandum
Attached for your review and consideration for approval is a resolution authorizing a sole source purchase order to Siemens Mobility, Inc. for version upgrades and maintenance of central traffic signal management software packages. SCOOT and TACTICS packages are currently installed on City's network. The completion of traffic control maintenance and operations tasks involves extensive use of these software packages. The total cost is $54,000.00, which includes $36,000.00 for TACTICS, and $18,000.00 for SCOOT.

Budget/Fiscal Impact: The City of Ann Arbor Capital Improvements Plan (CIP) includes the Central Signal System Software Upgrades Project (TR-OT-20-06). Funding for the project is included in the approved Major Street Fund capital budget.

Whereas, The City needs to purchase $54,000.00 of central traffic signal management software packages identified in Capital Improvement Plan;

Whereas, Siemens Mobility, Inc. is the Sole Developer and Distributor in Michigan for SCOOT and TACTICS software packages used in maintenance and operations of the City of Ann Arbor traffic signals;

Whereas, Sufficient funds are included in the approved Major Street Fund capital budget; and

Whereas, Siemens Mobility, Inc. is in compliance with the City's Non-Discrimination Ordinance;

RESOLVED, That the City Council approves a sole source purchase order to Siemens Mobility, Inc. for central traffic signal software maintenance and upgrade in the amount of $54,000.00; and
