Resolution to Accept Council Administration Committee Recommendation Regarding Interim City Administrator

Body

Whereas, The Ann Arbor City Administrator position will be vacant as of March 1, 2020;

 

Whereas, The City Administrator is selected and approved by the Ann Arbor City Council;

 

Whereas, Under Section 12.24 of the City Charter, the City Council may appoint an Acting City Administrator to assume the duties of City Administrator; and

 

Whereas, The Administration Committee of the Ann Arbor City Council recommends that Tom Crawford be appointed Interim City Administrator;

 

Resolved, That the City Council appoint Tom Crawford to serve as interim City Administrator, effective March 2, 2020, until a permanent City Administrator is appointed by City Council.  During this time as interim City Administrator, Mr. Crawford shall be paid the current annual salary of the City Administrator;

 

Resolved, That Mr. Crawford may elect to return to his current position as Financial Services Administrator with 30 days’ notice to the City Council; and

 

Resolved, That City Council acknowledges that Mr. Crawford may request additional overhire funding to address workload challenges resulting from his interim appointment.
