Title
Resolution to Approve the Purchase of a Vehicle from Gorno Ford (MiDeal Bid - $26,382.00)
Memorandum
The attached resolution authorizes the purchase of one 2020 Ford Fusion Energi plug-in hybrid electric vehicle at $26,382.00 from Gorno Ford, Woodhaven, Michigan. City Council approved a similar resolution to purchase a Ford Fusion at their January 6, 2020 Council meeting. This is a second Ford Fusion replacing a different vehicle than the earlier resolution.

The City's labor contracts with the Ann Arbor Police Officers Association and the Ann Arbor Police Supervisors require that vehicles used by their members will not be driven more than 80,000 miles or 6 years, whichever comes first.

The vehicle listed on this resolution will replace a vehicle that will have reached the contractual limit in the next year.

The Ford Fusion Energi is a plug-in hybrid electric sedan that also has a gasoline engine for use when the battery power is exhausted. The Fusion Energi all electric range is rated at 21 miles per charge which should be adequate for most local trips by the vehicle.

The Fleet and Facilities Unit reviewed the bids of the Cooperative Purchasing Programs of the State of Michigan, Oakland County, and Macomb County. Gorno Ford was the lowest responsive bidder to the State of Michigan MiDeal cooperative purchasing program (MiDeal contract #071B7700181) for the Ford Fusion Energi plug-in hybrid electric vehicle.

Gorno Ford complies with the requirements of the City's Conflict of Interest and Non-Discrimination ordinances.

Budget Impact: Adequate funding for the purchase of this vehicle has been budgeted in the approved FY20 Fleet Services Fund operation and maintenance budget.

This vehicle will also require a Level 2 charger at an estimated cost of $5,000.00. The purchase and installation of this charging infrastructure is not part of this resolution and will be funded separately through the Fleet Services Fund.
