Resolution to Approve Street Closings for ICC Championship Street Festival on Friday, August 9, 2019 from 6:00 AM to 2:00 AM on Saturday, August 10, 2019
Memorandum
Attached for your consideration is a resolution to approve the closing of the following streets from 6:00 AM on Friday, August 9, 2019 to 2:00 AM on Saturday, August 10, 2019. The actual event runs from 5:00 PM until 11:00 PM with the additional time to be used for preparation and clean-up.
• South Main from East William to Huron
• East and West Liberty from South Ashley to South Fourth
• East and West Washington from South Ashley to the alley before the parking structure, leaving it fully accessible
Reliant Sports and the Ann Arbor Convention and Visitor’s Bureau are the primary sponsors of this event. This is a pre-celebration of the ICC Soccer Match taking place at Michigan Stadium the next day. There will be live entertainment throughout the event.
The sponsor agrees to obtain all necessary permits, to provide evidence of proper liability insurance as required, to comply with all City regulations governing the use of the streets and will reimburse the City for all event expenses.
Notification of the street closings will be provided through the City’s website and GovDelivery. Applicant will also notify impacted businesses and residents via direct contact as well as press releases, print and social media.

Whereas, The City has received a request from Reliant Sports and the Ann Arbor Convention and Visitor’s Bureau to close the following streets on Friday, August 9, 2019 from 6:00 AM until 2:00 AM on Saturday, August 10, 2019:
• South Main from East William to Huron

Whereas, The street closures will be signed, barricaded and properly supervised by the sponsor;
Whereas, The sponsor agrees to obtain all necessary permits, to provide evidence of proper liability insurance as required, to comply with all City regulations governing the use of the streets and will reimburse the City for all event expenses; and
Whereas, Notification of the street closings will be provided through the City’s website, GovDelivery and applicant notification to impacted businesses and residents via direct contact, press releases, print and social media;
RESOLVED, That Council approve the closing of the following streets from 6:00 AM on Friday, August 9, 2019 to 2:00 AM on Saturday, August 10, 2019:
