Resolution Authorizing Trunkline Storm Sewer Improvement Charges for 2250 Ann Arbor-Saline Rd. ($49,884.85)

Your approval is requested to levy storm sewer trunkline improvement charges totaling
$49,884.85 on the property commonly known as 2250 Ann Arbor-Saline Rd. This parcel was annexed in 2016.
City of Ann Arbor Code section 1:279, Chapter 12, requires the property owner to pay the property’s share of the local public improvements through the City Improvement charge. The $49,884.85 Trunkline Storm Sewer Improvement Charge is to be levied and then made payable in 15 annual installments and will accrue interest at 3.06468% per annum on the unpaid balance.
The trunkline storm sewer was constructed by the city in 1972.
It is therefore recommended that Council levy this Improvement charge according to the terms described above.

Whereas, The City constructed a Trunkline Storm Sewer in 1972 located in Ann Arbor - Saline Road, which is a part of the City’s Storm Sewer System;
Whereas, The property at 2250 Ann Arbor-Saline Road annexed into the City of Ann Arbor on January 28, 2016, as notified by the State of Michigan;
Whereas, Improvement charges for the trunkline storm sewer in Ann Arbor - Saline Road constructed in 1972 are due. Cost forwarded improvement charges are: $4,624.6205/acre * 5.34 acres * 2.02 cost forwarding factor = $49,884.85 for 2250 Ann Arbor-Saline Road; and
Whereas, Pursuant to Section 1:279, Chapter 12, of the Code of the City of Ann Arbor, the fair share of the cost of said improvement is levied against certain properties and the fair share for this property has not been previously paid;
RESOLVED, That Council levy an improvement charge against the following property
that is specifically benefited by the above improvements:

RESOLVED, That the full improvement charge levied is $49,884.85;
RESOLVED, That this improvement charge be divided into 15 equal installments with
the first installment to be due on July 1, 2019, and the 14 subsequent installments to be
due on July 1 of each and every year thereafter, with the deferred installments of the Improvement charge to bear interest at the rate of 3.06468% per annum on Storm sewer;
RESOLVED, That the Public Services Area be directed to send a copy of this resolution
by electronic mail or first class mail to the owners of the property and to promptly have this resolution recorded in the office of the Register of Deeds of Washtenaw County, Michigan; and
RESOLVED, That this levied Improvement charge is to be invoiced to the owner Marafzali family LLC, of the property known as 2250 Ann Arbor-Saline Rd., City of Ann Arbor, Washtenaw County, Michigan 48104, and to be credited in the amount of
$49,884.85 to Fund 0069-070-1000-0000-7151.
