Resolution to Approve Street Closings for the Firecracker 5K - Thursday, July 4, 2019
Memorandum
Attached for your consideration is a resolution to approve the closing of certain streets for the Firecracker 5K on July 4, 2019 from 4:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. The following streets will be closed from 4:00 to 11:00 A.M.:
? Main Street from Washington to Liberty
* Washington from Main to State
* State from Monroe to Washington
? Liberty from Main to State
? William from Main to State
* S. University from State to East University
The sponsor, Epic Races, agrees to obtain all necessary permits, to provide evidence of proper liability insurance as required, to comply with all City regulations governing the use of the streets and will reimburse the City for all event expenses.
This event is held concurrently with the Ann Arbor Jaycees 4th of July Parade. Notifications to impacted residents and businesses will be similar to the Parade which will include the City's website, GovDelivery, the Ann Arbor Jaycees communication distributions, social media and the Epic Races website.
The event has been coordinated with all relevant City service areas for the purposes of traffic control and for the protection of the health and safety of the participants and the general public.
