Resolution to Add an Additional Street Closure for the Monroe Street Fair on Saturday, April 6, 2019

The 2019 Monroe Street Fair was approved on February 19, 2019 at Enactment #R-19-064. Given the recent voter approved Proposal 1 regarding recreational marijuana, the applicant, Fred Heller/Creative Rec, LLC, has experienced multiple requests for additional booths and anticipates a larger crowd than ever before. The expanded footprint will alleviate congestion and allow for more diverse offerings. This request is to add the closing of Tappan Street from Monroe to South University to the previously approved closure of Monroe Street from State to Tappan.

Whereas, The City has received a request from the Fred Heller/Creative Rec, LLC, organizer for the Monroe Street Fair, to add the closure of Tappan Street from Monroe Street to South University on Saturday, April 6, 2019 from 8:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. to accommodate larger crowds; and
Whereas, The City Council previously approved the closure of Monroe Street from South State to Tappan Street on February 19, 2019 at Enactment #R-19-064;
RESOLVED, That City Council approve the additional street closing of Tappan Street from Monroe Street to South University on Saturday, April 6, 2019 from 8:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. for the 2019 Monroe Street Fair.
