Resolution to Encourage Transportation Collaboration

Whereas, Ann Arbor serves as a regional attractor and destination for business, education, and tourism;

 

Whereas, The supporting regional transportation network is becoming more integrated and increasingly stressed; and

 

Whereas, Multimodal solutions will be best supported by continuing and growing collaborative efforts to address scopes of services, cost sharing, and creating and innovative solutions with community partners, including but not limited to the University of Michigan; Washtenaw County, other impacted municipalities, Washtenaw County Road Commission, Michigan Department of Transportation, Washtenaw Area Transportation Study, the Transportation Commission, the Ann Arbor Public Schools System, the Ann Arbor Area Transportation Authority and SEMCOG;

 

RESOLVED, That prior to approving a transportation-related Request for Proposal or contract, City staff will collaborate with and explore cost sharing opportunities with the City’s community partners, including but not limited to, the University of Michigan, Washtenaw County, Washtenaw County Road Commission, Michigan Department of Transportation, Washtenaw Area Transportation Study, and SEMCOG; and

 

RESOLVED, That City staff will seek opportunities for working with experts from the University of Michigan or other appropriate local colleges and universities.
