Resolution to Add “The Center of the City” to the list of Available Public Park Rental Facilities

Whereas, The City of Ann Arbor currently rents for temporary public use Park Shelters, Park Space and Athletic Fields within the city’s park system or which are owned or otherwise controlled by the city;
Whereas, Descriptions of amenities available at each location, fees for use, and terms of use are described on the city’s website and in Chapter 39 “Park Rules” of the city’s codes and ordinances; and
Whereas, The property known as the “Library Lot” has, via the November 6, 2018 adoption of Ann Arbor City Proposition A, been retained for public use as a commons to be known as “The Center of the City”;
RESOLVED , City Council directs the City Administrator to calculate a fee for use of “The Center of the City” commensurate with the amenities and space available for public use, using other Park Rental fees and use restrictions in Chapter 39 as a guideline; and
RESOLVED, City Council directs the City Administrator to prepare the necessary rental forms and add “The Center of the City” rental information to the city’s website no later January 2, 2019, in keeping with the opening of the existing calendar year rental season.
