Memorandum
This resolution recommends the approval of Amendments #1-4 of the sub-contract with the University of Michigan for the Ann Arbor Test Environment Project and acceptance of the additional federal grant funds under the agreement for the City of Ann Arbor's work in support of the project.

The $3.0 million project was originally awarded to the University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute (UMTRI) from the US Department of Transportation (USDOT) under USDOT Contract NO. DTF-H61-15-H-00005 as a continuation of the Safety Model Deployment Projects previously awarded to the University of Michigan and the City of Ann Arbor participated as a partner in the project. Previous City participation in both efforts was approved by City Council via #R-13-127 and #R-15-313. The University of Michigan is requesting the continued support of the City of Ann Arbor in the research and testing environment developed under the Safety Model Deployment Project requiring amendments to the original agreement and additional appropriation of funding.

The continued support includes the maintenance of the existing equipment, performing any necessary troubleshooting and remediation of issues identified, network support, and enhancing the system as requested to support additional research efforts. The University of Michigan under the terms and conditions of the agreement will reimburse the costs associated for this work. In order to continue the project, the City's continued support is essential.
