Memorandum

PROCLAMATION

Constitution Week

September 17-23, 2018

WHEREAS,                      September 17th, 2018 marks the two hundred and thirty-first anniversary of the drafting of the Constitution of the United States of America by the Constitutional Convention; and

WHEREAS,                     It is fitting and proper to officially recognize this foundational document and the anniversary of its creation; and

WHEREAS,                     It is fitting and proper to encourage, support, and recognize the patriotic celebrations which will commemorate the occasion; and

WHEREAS,                     Public Law 915 guarantees the issuing of a proclamation each year by the President of the United States of America designating September 17^th  through 23^rd  as Constitution Week.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Christopher Taylor, Mayor of Ann Arbor, Michigan, do hereby proclaim September 17^th-23^rd, 2018 as Constitution Week and urge all citizens to take note of the observance.
