Memorandum
Please find attached for your consideration a resolution that authorizes issuance of a purchase order to Washtenaw County for the FY 19 City of Ann Arbor's share of the maintenance costs of the shared 800 MHz simulcast system.

The cost of maintaining the system is allocated based on the number of radios that use it. The current cost for each radio is $40.00 per year. The City currently has 640 radios that use the system. Therefore, its cost of maintaining the system is $25,600.00 per year. Each Service Area is responsible for the costs of the radios assigned to them. The Engineering/Transportation Service Unit of the Public Service Area receives internal transfers from each Service Unit and pays Washtenaw County, who is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the system.

Budget Impact:
The FY 19 share of the maintenance of the shared 800 MHz Simulcast System in included in the approved FY 19 Engineering/Transportation Central Stores Operations and Maintenance Budget.

Whereas, The City of Ann Arbor owns 640 radios that use the Countywide 800MHz Simulcast System;

Whereas, The cost for maintenance for FY 19 is $40.00 per radio and is budgeted in each Service Area's budget;

Whereas, The Engineering/Transportation Service Unit of the Public Services Area collects this service fee from all 640 City of Ann Arbor users and remits the payments to the County; and
