Memorandum
Attached for your consideration is a resolution to approve the closing of the following streets from 5:30 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. on Sunday, July 29, 2018 to hold the Electric Bolt 8K Run/Walk:

* Wall Street between Canal and Maiden Lane Court
* Canal Street between Wall and Maiden Lane Court
* Longshore Drive from Barton Drive to the Argo Park Entrance
* Argo Drive at Longshore Drive
* Indianola at Longshore Drive
* Amherst at Longshore Drive
* Northern lanes of Beakes from E. Summit to 4th Avenue
* 4th Avenue from Beakes to Farmer's Market
* Kingsley between N. Main and 5th Avenue

This event, sponsored by the Ann Arbor Track Club and Ann Arbor Active Against ALS (A2A3), is fundraising for research toward a cure for Lou Gehrig's Disease.

The sponsor agrees to obtain all necessary permits, to provide evidence of proper liability insurance as required, to comply with all City regulations governing the use of the streets and will reimburse the City for all event expenses.

Typical race start area noise and low level music at will occur at Riverside Park after 7:00 A.M. Music will be played over loudspeakers at aid stations, but not until the first runners appear in those areas. Music and announcements will occur at the end of the race at Wheeler Park. Streets will re-open as soon as safely possible but no later than 10:00 A.M.

Notification of the street closings will be provided through the City's website and GovDelivery. The applicant will communicate via face-to-face contact with impacted businesses and will distribute flyers. Applicant will also use social media and neighborhood association websites.
