Resolution to Approve Fees for the Recovery of the City’s Costs from Ann Arbor Public Schools for Ball Field Usage and Services
Memorandum
Attached for your consideration and approval is a resolution approving fees for the City to recover its costs as a result of the agreement between the City and the Ann Arbor Public Schools (AAPS) for ball field usage and services for third party users.

The City and AAPS have conducted joint recreation programs for over 80 years. These programs include the use of fields that are owned by the City and the AAPS. The ball fields are used for various activities such as baseball, softball and kickball.

Staff is recommending approval of the fees for services rendered by the City in order to recover expenses for the services provided. The fees were negotiated as part of a new agreement for the joint recreation programs.

The services provided by the City include mowing, field grooming, removing trash and loose litter, opening and closing restrooms, and making ball field repairs.

The proposed fees are listed as follows:

Ball Field Usage - Resident - $21.00 per booking*
Ball Field Usage - Non-resident - $24.00 per booking*
Ball Field Grooming Fee - $80.00 per grooming
Ball Field Anchor Placement Fee - $121.84 per anchor placement

*One booking is equal to two (2) hours of ball field usage.
