PROCLAMATION
Honoring James A. Kosteva
On the Occasion of his Retirement
June 7, 2018
WHEREAS, James “Jim” Kosteva, Director of Community Relations at the University of Michigan-Office of the Vice President for Government Relations officially retired on May 25, 2018, after twenty-three years of outstanding and meritorious service to the University of Michigan; and
WHEREAS, Jim began his service with the University of Michigan in December of 1994 and as a result of diligent work and demonstrated ability, he successfully facilitated hundreds of interactions between the City of Ann Arbor and the University of Michigan on issues and activities of mutual concern such as parking, transportation, off-campus neighborhoods, facility construction, economic development, tourism, public service and safety; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his twenty-three years of service, Jim has also been an integral link between our office at the City of Ann Arbor and the University of Michigan and has seen the City of Ann Arbor through many projects. As such Jim has served as an example to his peers, and the residents of the community and this State, both in his personal and professional achievements, with fairness, humility, persistence and dedication.
NOW THEREFORE, I, Christopher Taylor, Mayor of Ann Arbor, Michigan, do hereby proclaim that we, the City of Ann Arbor, take this opportunity to express our sincere and grateful appreciation, and hereby extend to James “Jim” Kosteva, our congratulations on his well-earned retirement, and our best wishes to him for continued success, happiness, and good health in the years to come.
