Memorandum
The attached resolution authorizes the purchase of one 2019 Freightliner M2106 single-axle truck chassis with a Challenger 2900 aerial platform, at a total cost of $177,732.00, from D & K Truck Company for use by the Public Services Area, Public Works Unit.

D & K Truck Company Inc., Lansing, Michigan, was awarded contract #071B6600119 by the State of Michigan MiDeal cooperative purchasing program for Vehicles - Cab & Chassis.

The vehicle listed in this resolution will replace an existing 2003 Ford F-550 chassis with a Challenger aerial platform (#4612) which has 9,042 hours of use and the repair cost of which has exceeded 92% of the purchase price of the vehicle. The Public Works Unit uses this vehicle in its signs and signal maintenance operations. Staff uses the platform when installing or repairing signs within the right of way, traffic signal heads, and mast arms.

Adequate funding for the purchase of the aerial platform truck is available in the approved FY 18 Fleet Services Fund and the approved FY 18 Major Street Fund Operation and Maintenance budget.
