Resolution to Accept the Right-of-Ways of Vine Court, Oakbrook Drive, and Carrot Way, and to Dedicate them as Public Streets in the Act 51 Street System
Memorandum
This action will add Vine Court, Oakbrook Drive, and Carrot Way to the Act 51 Street System.
In order to receive Act 51 funding (gas tax funds that are collected by the state and then redistributed to respective municipalities based on a set formulas for the sole use of maintenance and repair of major and local streets), it is crucial that the City Street Administrator (Homayoon Pirooz) maintain up-to-date, accurate Street System Maps. To amend an Act 51 Street System Map, the state requires that administrators submit specific, detailed information and forms. One of the requisite amendment documents is a resolution adopted by the municipal governing body outlining and approving the requested changes/amendments.
Vine Court, Oakbrook Drive, and Carrot Way are either new streets or have been extended since the last Act 51 Street System update.
Legal descriptions of the 3 street sections, covered in this memorandum, are attached.

Whereas, The City of Ann Arbor did prior to December 31, 2008, acquire title to Vine Court, Oakbrook Drive and Carrot Way; and
Whereas, It is necessary to furnish certain information to the State of Michigan to place these streets within the City Street System for the purpose of obtaining funds under Act 51, P.A. 1951 as amended;
RESOLVED, That the legal descriptions of Vine Court, Oakbrook Drive and Carrot Way are attached;
RESOLVED, That said streets are located within a City right-of-way and are under the control of the City of Ann Arbor;
RESOLVED, That said streets are public streets and are for public street purposes;
RESOLVED, That said streets are accepted into the City Local Street System and were open to the public prior to December 31, 2008; and
RESOLVED, That City Council authorizes the City Administrator to take any necessary administrative actions to implement this resolution.
