Resolution to Approve the Purchase of One Etnyre 55-Ton Trailer from AIS Construction Equipment Corp. (MiDeal - $77,952.60)
Memorandum
The attached resolution authorizes the purchase of one Etnyre Model RTN55ETD3 55-ton trailer at a cost of $77,952.60 through the State of Michigan MiDeal cooperative purchasing contract #071B7700090 for use by the Public Services Area, Public Works Unit.
The trailer listed in this resolution will replace an existing 2000 Etnyre 50-ton trailer (#4362). The Public Works Unit uses this trailer for its streets maintenance operations to transport the paving mill equipment and other equipment as needed. Utilities operations uses it to transport its large excavator as well. In addition, it is used to haul concrete jersey barriers used for street closures.
AIS Construction Equipment Corp., New Hudson, Michigan was awarded contract #071B7700090 by the State of Michigan MiDeal cooperative purchasing program for Construction Equipment.
Adequate funding for the purchase of this equipment is available in the FY 18 approved Fleet Services Fund and Major Streets Funds.
AIS Construction Equipment Corp. complies with the requirements of the City’s conflict of interest and non-discrimination ordinances.

Whereas, The Fleet & Facilities Unit needs to purchase a replacement;
Whereas, Competitive bids were received by the State of Michigan MiDeal cooperative purchasing program;
Whereas, AIS Construction Equipment Corp., New Hudson, MI, received the contract for Construction Equipment;
Whereas, AIS Construction Equipment Corp. complies with the requirements of the City’s Conflict of Interest and Non-Discrimination Ordinances;
Whereas, Adequate funds for the purchase of this equipment in the amount of $59,750.00 are available in the FY 18 approved Fleet Services Fund and in the amount of $18,202.60 in the FY 18 approved Major Streets Fund budgets;
RESOLVED, That the City Council approves the issuance of a purchase order to AIS Construction Equipment Corp. for one Etnyre 55-ton trailer in the amount of $77,952.60;
RESOLVED, That funds for the purchase of this equipment be available without regard to fiscal year;
RESOLVED, That the equipment being replaced (no. 4362) be sold at the next City vehicle auction held after the equipment is removed from service; and
RESOLVED, That the City Administrator be authorized to take the necessary actions to implement this resolution.
